Wilcoxon Research safety connector cables for portable data collection

MaxFlex® cables for data collectors are available with a safety connector that breaks away if the sensor or cable becomes entangled at the monitoring point

MaxFlex cables for data collectors

Safety connector cables for data collection will

- Safely protect the operator from being pulled toward a machine during a data collection route
- Prevent damage to expensive portable data collector hardware
- Provide a quick disconnect between the sensor and the data collector

Safety connector information

  • Disconnects when more than 10 lbs (4.5 kg) of pull force is exerted
  • IP67 rated at the safety connector, for the harsh industrial environment
  • Disconnects, or “breaks away,” and can be reconnected hundreds of times
  • Works in temperatures from -25 ºC to 85 ºC (-13 ºF to 185 ºF)
  • Rated voltage is 125 V
  • Isolation voltage is 1500

Full-performance, compact accelerometers
Wilcoxon launches two new economy accelerometers to complete its 780 sensor family. The 780 Series is a family of narrow, low-profile, and lightweight sensors, ideal for portable data collection and online monitoring.

780BThe key differentiator between the 780A, 780B, and 780C is the sensitivity tolerance:

  780A 780B 780C
Sensitivity tolerance ±5% ±10% ±15%
Sensitivity 100 mV/g
Acceleration range 80g
Frequency response (±3dB) 0.4 Hz to 14 kHz
Connector 2-pin, MIL-C-5015
Protections EMI/RFI, ESD, reverse wiring
Operating temp. range -50°C to 120°C
Weight 62 grams
Height 1.81 inches (46mm)
Diameteter 0.69 inches (18mm)

- The 780A’s tight tolerance is ideal for measurements on critical or failure-prone machinery
- The 780A is available with Class I Division 1 (Zone 0) or Class I Division 2 (Zone 2) certification, and will soon receive IECEx certification
- The wider tolerance of the 780B and 780C is an economical choice for vibration trending or walk-around programs in which the exact sensitivity tolerance of the sensor can be programmed into the acquisition system
- Hermetic seal and piezo-stabilization ensure a long sensor life and minimal signal drift, two of the quality and reliability traits for which Wilcoxon accelerometers are renowned
- Compact size allows installation in small areas and easy handling on walk-around routes

Design improvements lead to exceptional performance-to-cost ratio

Wilcoxon incorporated customer feedback and continuous product improvement efforts into two new economy accelerometers. Model 780B replaces the 788A and model 780C replaces the 784A. The 780B and 780C accelerometers have significant performance improvements over the 788A and 784A models:

- Embedded EMI/RFI shielding: the 788A and 784A sensors were not shielded
- Increased acceleration range: from 50g to 80g
- Expanded ±3dB frequency range: from 1.5 Hz – 12 kHz to 0.4 Hz – 14 kHz
- Improved sensitivity tolerance: from ±20% on the 784A to ±15% on the 780C

The 788A and 784A models will be discontinued after a limited time
