ILA200 series inline adapters

IEPE to Modbus Inline Adapter

Model: ILA210

Accelerometer inline adapter with Modbus RTU digital output

Digitize analog accelerometers for real-time machine health visibility, alarms, and diagnostics within control and automation systems

Bringing vibration data directly into PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems enables:

  • Continuous machine health visibility within the control system
  • Standardized alarms and thresholds alongside process variables
  • Simplified fault detection using ISO-aligned vibration metrics
  • Reduced implementation complexity with standard Modbus registers
  • Seamless integration into existing automation systems

The ILA210 converts analog IEPE vibration signals into Modbus and delivers actionable overall vibration metrics for single-channel accelerometers or dual-output vibration and temperature sensors.

By digitizing proven IEPE sensors, the ILA210 extends vibration monitoring into applications where digital sensors are not available or practical, including low-frequency, high-temperature, and hazardous-area installations (with the adapter mounted in a safe area). This enables existing sensors to deliver digital data without hardware changes.

Key features and benefits

  • Direct Modbus integration delivers vibration and temperature data to plant control systems using standard Modbus.
  • Broad sensor compatibility supports IEPE accelerometers (1–1000 mV/g) and dual-output vibration + temperature sensors.
  • 19 actionable vibration metrics provide calculated overalls across acceleration, velocity, and displacement, including ISO-aligned metrics for machine condition assessment.
  • Dynamic data for diagnostics includes time waveform and FFT spectrum for vibration analysis and fault diagnostics.

Data for control and diagnostics

The ILA210 provides both overall condition indicators and detailed diagnostic data:

  • Acceleration, velocity, displacement (RMS and peak)
  • Frequency bands aligned to ISO 10816-3 and ISO 20816-3 guidelines for machine condition assessment
  • Crest factor and standard deviation for assessing signal quality and impact severity
  • True peak detection of high-frequency impacts for improved bearing fault detection
  • Temperature (°C / °F) when using dual-output sensors
  • Time waveform (1 second)
  • FFT spectrum (0–10 kHz, 6400 lines)

This combination supports both routine trending in control systems and deeper analysis when required. Modbus registers can be selectively polled to retrieve only the data needed for monitoring and control.
